Leah W. Coulter

Leah W. Coulter entered her first courtroom at the age of 7 and knew shortly thereafter that she was meant to be a litigator. As a child of divorce, family law was her destiny. Although Leah has practiced law for 20+ years, she still believes it is a privilege to enter courtrooms and advocate for families.
Since graduating from Baylor Law School and being admitted to the bar in 2004, Leah has successfully tried family law and civil law matters to resolution to juries and judges throughout North Texas. Even so, Leah believes that the best resolution is the one that clients reach between themselves, so her goal is always to help clients resolve their disputes first through mediation or informal negotiation, leaving trial as a last resort.
Leah grew up in North Texas, having graduated from Lancaster Elsie Robertson High School in 1994. After high school, she attended Kilgore College and Hardin Simmons University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science with minors in history and legal studies in 1998. Throughout her educational studies, Leah was recognized for outstanding leadership and performance, indicating the success she would continue in her career.
Ms. Coulter is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She has been recognized as a SuperLawyer in family law since 2019 and as a Rising Star SuperLawyer for three years before that. She is a member of the Collin County Bar Association, and participates in the Family Law, Attorney Moms, and Women Lawyers sections. She has recently added the title of adjunct professor to her honors when Baylor Law School added her to the faculty of the school’s Family Law Bootcamp program.
Leah has called north Texas home all her life and chose Allen as the place to live with her husband, daughters, and dogs. When not practicing law, Leah enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, serving as a farm/ranch apprentice, and raising her family. On many nights, you will find her standing under the Friday night lights cheering for her daughters who are cheering for their school teams!
